About: Join to view a live demonstration by the developers of the newly updated ‘CA Cone Observations’ application (hosted on Survey123 by Esri) to record data and report developing cone crops to agency seedbank managers to monitor for collection.
There will be time for Q&A with the app developers and both the CAL FIRE and USDA Forest Service seedbank managers who lead cone collection for the public seedbanks in California.
Learning objectives:
- Understand why and by whom the application was developed
- How to access and properly fill the ‘CA Cone Observations’ survey
- How to browse your and peers’ data on ArcGIS with or without an AGOL account.
Intended audience:
- Federal and State agencies staff, plus partners, contractors and grantee-affiliated personnel assisting CAL FIRE and/or USDA Forest Service (Region 5) with cone (seed) collection.
- Anyone else interested in supporting reforestation by scouting for and reporting sightings of significant quantities of cones while recreating or working in the woods.
